I’m on Coruscant for the farce that is the Imperial Senate, knowing how precarious my position is as I work secretly with the Rebellion. I’m told that there is a new prisoner, thrown in jail without a trial for treason and dissent, and I can’t help but want to see him with my own eyes. To see if he’s truly figured out the evils of the Empire.

“You make me so happy, too, Han,” I say, cupping his cheek. “All the time. I’ve never been happier.”

“I bet I can make you even happier,” I say, kissing her deeply.

“Oh really?” I ask against his lips, ruffling his hair.

“Mmhmm, I’ll make you happier every day for the rest of your life…”

“I believe it,” I say, pulling him closer and curling up against him.

“As you should,” I say, stroking her arm affectionately.

“I love you,” I say sleepily, curling further into his side.

“I love you, Leia,” I tell her, kissing the top of her head.

“Promise me you’ll be here when I wake up?” I ask, burying my face in his neck, exhausted.

“Even at the risk of being flayed by your parents,” I tease softly, nuzzling her.

“Just have to make sure we get our clothes back on…” I mumble, half asleep.

“I never did like clothes…” I say with a soft sigh. “Get some sleep, Princess. I’ll make sure there’s no trouble.”

I fall asleep in his arms, entirely content and in love, dreaming of a future with him.

I cover her with a warm blanket and kiss her cheek before giving into sleep myself.

I awaken before her, kissing her all over before I gently change her into pajamas and myself the clothes from the night before.

I grumble softly as he dresses me, exhausted and still worn out from the night before. “Can you hold me please?”

“Of course, Leia,” I say, wrapping my arms around her.

I tuck my head under his chin, feeling sore and a little bit needy, hugging him close. “Did you sleep okay?”

“Like a dream.” I tell her, and I mean it. “Softest bed I’ve ever slept on.”

“Good, I’m glad,” I murmur, nuzzling him. “I feel like I could sleep for days.”

“I’m not opposed to that,” I say, smiling against her skin.

“I’m sure you’re not,” I laugh, reaching up to ruffle his hair playfully.

I smile, leaning into her touch with a happy little sigh.

Then there’s the knock on the door.

“Oh, you have to hide!” I whisper, immediately panicked. Not for getting found out, exactly, but for his sake, not wanting them to get the wrong idea.

“I - okay,” I say, immediately looking at the closets before lunging toward one and hiding in the middle of the clothes.
