I’m on Coruscant for the farce that is the Imperial Senate, knowing how precarious my position is as I work secretly with the Rebellion. I’m told that there is a new prisoner, thrown in jail without a trial for treason and dissent, and I can’t help but want to see him with my own eyes. To see if he’s truly figured out the evils of the Empire.

I'm worried, of course, but I don't let it show to any of the guards that pass by my cell, calling out quips and jokes instead until they come closer to the door and I hold up my hands.

I manage to get my R2 droid to hack into the computer and find out where he’s being held, and I leave my apartment late at night, heading that way. I walk down the corridor, my boots echoing in the darkness as I look for his cell.

There's something different about the tread down the hall and it makes me curious, looking out into the dark.

I stop outside of his door, not opening it just yet, because I’m not an idiot, raising an eyebrow when I see eyes staring right back at me. “You’re up late.”

"I was waiting for you," I shoot back, even though in reality it's impossible to sleep most hours of the day here.

“You don’t even know who I am,” I say, amused, already starting to wonder about him.

“I can tell I’m going to want to, Miss…?”

“Organa,” I say, wondering if he’ll make the connection but not really caring in this instance. “So, what are you here for?”

“You better get a few drinks under my belt before I’m willing to confess my sins, Princess,” I say, recognising immediately who she must be.

I sigh, heavily, starting to think that maybe I don’t actually want to free him from this cell, if the blooming headache is any indication of what’s to come.

“Sick of me already?” I ask with a raised brow.

“You’re impossible,” I respond, glaring at him. “You do realize you’re being imprisoned for treason, correct?”

“I’ve been imprisoned for a lot of things, this is one I’m not guilty of,” I answer.

“Not guilty as in, you believe what the Imperial Army stands for, and they have it mixed up? Or not guilty as in…you shouldn’t be charged with treason for attempting to free an enslaved Wookiee?”

“The second,” I say, disgusted at the implication of the first evident on my face.

“Glad to hear it,” I say, typing in a code on the keypad and opening his cell door. “Come on, I’m getting you out of here.”

"Wait," I say, utterly confused as the door opens with ease. Is this a trick? "Really?"

“Really,” I say. “Unless you’d like to stay here and be executed for treason…”

“I’m not suicidal, Princess,” I say, quickly stepping out of the cell. “But I’m not leaving with Chewie.”

“Chewie?” I ask, looking at him like he has 3 heads.

“You don’t know Chewie?” I ask sarcastically, stepping into the hall. “Chewbacca. He’s… we’re a team. We have to free him, too.”

“Ohhh, is that your Wookiee friend?” I say, impressed at his loyalty. “He’s…in a facility for non-humans.”

“Well wherever he is, we’re going to get him,” I say confidently.

“You are not in charge of this rescue,” I say sternly, looking up at him with all of the authority I possess. “However, I agree with you on this issue, so let’s go.”

I hold up my hands and shrug, willing to let her lead the way it it means finding Chewie, again.
